About Mike Goguen

Michael Goguen

Mike Goguen is the Founder and Managing Partner of Two Bear Capital, a venture capital firm headquartered in Whitefish, Montana and with offices in Silicon Valley, San Diego, and Boston.

With more than $275 million under management across two funds, Two Bear Capital focuses on early stage companies in biotechnology, bioinformatics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, enterprise software, and cybersecurity. The firm has invested in companies solving difficult problems in everything from neurodegenerative disease to precision oncology, and from advanced network architecture to data analytics.

During a nearly 20-year career at Sequoia Capital, Mike sponsored and led 54 early and growth stage company investments to a combined market value exceeding $64 billion. Mike had 26 company exits above $100 million, 11 of those above $500 million, 6 above $1 billion, and 3 above $10 billion in peak market value. He led investments across deep tech and biotech sectors, including cybersecurity, bioinformatics, IT infrastructure, and semiconductors.

Prior to Sequoia, Mike spent 10 years in various engineering, research, and product management roles at DEC, SynOptics and Centillion, and was a Director of Engineering at Bay Networks. Mike was also a Technical Chairman of the ATM Forum.

Mike has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
